We are excited to announce the three winners of our 2016 Nexus Services Scholarship program!
Over fifty high school students from across the Shenandoah Valley submitted essays on how to best tackle the issue of money bail reform. Fourteen of them presented their ideas in front of the Nexus Scholarship Committee. The committee is composed by 10 Nexus Services and Libre by Nexus employees.
Madison Phillips is this year's Libre Scholar and will receive a full-ride scholarship, including housing costs and stipends, to any college or university of her choosing. Matthew Knick and Jordan Shuff both won the Achiever Scholarship and will receive $10,000 each towards their studies. In total, $350,000 were awarded.
"Our committee members were very impressed with the research that was done and the solutions they came up with" said Scholarship Committee Chairman Rick Nagel.
Nexus Services CEO, Mike Donovan, said "In addition to continuing our scholarship programs for Valley students, we plan to expand our scholarship program next year and in coming years to serve the communities across the United States where Nexus offices are located."
Mike interviewed the winners in his TV program, Breaking Through.
